Default 924S Tachometer w/mpg

I posted this over in the racing forum, but i'm looking for a 924S Tach with the mpg indicator on it. This would be the round old school style with the white numbers. Does anyone have one they wouldnt mind selling? Or swapping?

Also does anyone know how many 924S were actually sold with this option? I've only seen one...
Thanks!
Erich

If your speedo doesn't have the little circuit board on the back then yes you will need the speedo too. Might even be some wire loom differences but porsche usually puts the full looms in all the cars.

I have no MPG gauge on my '87 924S, the circuit board is present on the back of the speedo, however it is broken in two.

Wow, I didn't know there was such an option.

Is it accurate at all? I've been doing all my calculations on paper. LOL

it's not too bad...however, IMHO, it's a little on the low side...

On my most recent road trip, it was reading below 20 MPG as I"m zooming at 110 MPH as an average speed. However, I calculated my MPG at the station, and I was actually getting 22 MPG

Thanks for al the posts guys...i believe this was a pretty rare option, i wish someone out there had some numbers on it. But the early 944's all had the yellow gauge faces, actually there is one of those on ebay right now for like $20. But it looks like the white ones are pretty rare...I would think the wiring should all be there for it, especially if one already has the shift light on the tach....

Me no have-y guage-y.. was that an option?? I just thought the auto's didnt have it.

You can always get the early 944 guage and use indiglo guage faces...

Mine is def. a 5spd. Well atleast it was the last time i saw it! And it didnt have it from the factory. The other one i saw that did have one was also a 5spd...maybe there is come correlation, maybe it was only an option for the 5spds and not auto's...perhaps due to the lack of a shift light, i dunno...

I thought about the indigo gauges faces...but since its so hard to find the white one it makes it even more appealing

I have it in my 83 944. Same gauges as the 924S. I might have an extra one in my garage too. I'll check when I'm home next week.

I thought all 924S 5 speeds came standard with that feature.

Iloveporsches: I'd take it! You mean an extra white one with both the shift light and mpg indicator???

MO: I didnt even know it was a option till i saw one 924S with it over this past summer. I dont even think the shift light was standard. I believe that was an option as well...
