Default OT: LIVE FOR SPEED! (game for PC)

http://www.liveforspeed.net/

You can download the demo..and thats pretty cool...

but if you spend the $20 and buy the game, you can drive autocross courses. You can make the courses, you can download courses other people made....

I figure we could get a nice little autocross / road race series going during the off season..

The game is ridiculusly realistic...suspension tweaks actually make big changes to how the car handles.

Looks cool for an independently made game, but I think they could have been a little more original with the name....they're only one word off "Need For Speed".

I love it

I never liked racing games till need for speed porsche unleashed, which influenced me to think that porsches kick *** more than they actually do (which is a good amount of *** that they kick, but this game made me think they are the best cars at everything, period, which isnt terribly realistic)

But this LFS game is soooooo realistic its HARD!!
especially with a mouse... but i got a brand new MS force feedback wheel on the way just for this, and i left not so subtle hints to my brother about what he could get me for my birthday

though ive got me a question... would this game be able to help actual real world driving? it seems like its realistic enough and if i practice (and read that solo racing book i ordered and try that stuff out) it would help,
but just how much do you think it would?

I never did any sort of racing before, not even stupid stoplight drags, and i want to autocross next summer, and would like to learn as much as I can before i go.

Although not originally planned, we're looking into using this game to help us find the ideal setup for various conditions for our next FSAE car. I really hope that this will help us get rid of that abnormal tire wear we were experiencing at last year's competition due to lack of testing.
