Default Leak

Had car out the other day in a downpour and it seemed that the passenger door filled up with water. Heard a bunch of swishing however, after driving for a bit I checked it again and it had drained. The age old question........ Is this normal?

You mean water was getting INSIDE the passenger door? NO. I do not think that's normal. I haven't experienced this though, I'm in New Orleans and as you may know it rains here a lot. I'd check the window and door seal, they crack with age. Good luck.

Sounds very NOT normal. Your front speakers are in there...was the water swishing around them?

don't know how high the water got. Car was parked in a real downpour for about 10 minutes. Closed door and heard swishing in door. By the time I got home it had drained.

Was it parked on a hill - nose up? Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when the nose was in the air for a few days while I was doing the belts. Never before. I doubt it's normal tho...

Nose wasn't up it was parked on level ground. The battery tray tends to leak into the car. Had this repaired. Maybe that's what your problem is.

No, the tray leaks into the interior, not the door (well maybe the damn thing leaks into the door when the nose is up). I have a small leak there that needs to be addressed.

Anyway, aging seals sound pretty plausible to me.
