I regret trading it every day for the Italian ****box that sits rusting.
Didn't realize how beautiful she was until she was gone
100% original all pampered and cared for low miles.
She was beautiful.
At least the Lancia project is coming along, I have the custom made pistons coming this week, which means assembly will hopefully be done within the next couple of weeks, then I'll be able to get some garage time to prep the engine bay and squirt it, then once it's in and running I'll finally be able to give it the beauty it deserves. Kandy or pearl base with some ice and mini flake on top, I can't wait.
But oh how I long for love once lost!

I miss my '68 RS Z28. (302 V8 with a Muncie M22 4-speed.) It couldn't corner that well. (Even though in the day it was among the best.) I was loud, no A/C, everything broke at one time or another, I could never get the shifter linkage just right. It would turn every head in sight. An all original '68 RS Z28. #1,077 of 6,000 made. (Black w/white stripes with black "deluxe" interior.)
I sold it and bought a house with the proceeds.

i hear ya there, i had a 69 firebird, candy red, shaved door handles, 355ci bischof built race motor around 400hp, 12bolt posi, (12.3 sec 1/4mile on street tires), loud, obnoxiously loud, no a/c, no power windows, cold in the winter, hot in the summer-man i miss that car.

My next car after the 84 GTI was an 88 A2 GTI 16v, I still liked the 84 better! If I could afford another car on my insurance (I HATE NJ!) I would probaby have an 84 GTI

Marc, some fellow dub enthusiasts on rennlist i see The sad part is that even an "average" condition A1 GTi or Golf for that matter is impossible to find. I was looking for one before i bought the 4 and travelled at least 2K miles looking at cars. They've all became rust buckets but survivors are now praised by VW crowd as a new classic VW. Those cars weight nothing and handle like a dream!
