Headroom in a 944?
#3
It depends on your proportions...more legs, or more torso?
I am 6'6" with longer legs...I fit just fine, but I can't wear a hat because of the sunroof sticking so low.
I have the seat all the way back but do sit fairly upright.
I would advise you to find a non-sunroof car...a lot more head room there.

I'm 6'2" and have no problem wearing a helmet in my sunroof cars.
I know many boys bigger than me that also have no problem. The Team Cuz guys come to mind. Dan is probably 6'4" or 6'5" and Brian is probably an inch taller than Dan.
If you fit in a 911 - you'll have no problem in a 944.

Hi Slomo, have you inspected your seat rails? every 924-944-968 I've looked at has 20mm alumimium spacers between the rail and the seat. I always remove them on my cars.

6'2" here. I have more headroom in my early NA than in my 951, simply because of the non-power seats sitting lower overall. Both are very comfortable. I've taken the NA on tons of long drives across Texas and it's very comfortable compared to other cars, where I want to get out and stretch every hour.

I have a long torso and/or a big head, I guess!

6'2" and I scrape the roof on the 944 and 928 when I'm in a helmet. It isn't a real problem, all you need to do is learn to relax. A very good friend of mine is a retired F-14 pilot and he taught me how to relax at the controls of a Ford Bronco. Being relaxed is critical.
How's that for an oxymoron? "Dammit boy! Relax!"
