Default Dashboard Restoration - Late with airbag

I got a quote from JustDashes.com for $2000 to completely restore my dash and paint match the airbag. Anyone have any other suppliers or experiences to share?

I'd do a coverlay but can't find one for an airbag car.

I did a drop in last month at Classic 9. Man, what a great place.

I witnessed nothing but top notch work in progress. Rob is super easy to talk with and he has the proper equipment.

Here's my Classic 9 Airbag dash. This was the first airbag dash Rob did, I think the newer design does not have the french seam across the passenger side. I'm guessing though you're hoping for a more stock look?

I did a DIY kit from Classic 9. Came out very well and not hard to do at all. It has been 6 years and daily driven for the last 5 years in the southeast sun with no issues.

Wow.. that looks really nice and the price is quite fair. As much as I like the leather, I'm going for a stock appearance. I sent Robert an email to see what his thoughts are on matching the OEM vinyl texture. I need to do the front seats too.. looks like he has a kit for them as well.

I've been away so long that I missed out on the surge of so many new quality vendors. Thanks for the info!

My dash is vinyl that was done by him. The only thing that is not stock looking is the French seam around the instruments.

I did the DIY leather install on my s2 air bag car and its held up great, looks good too, not perfect since i installed but i would totally recommend it. Just dashes does good work too, but classic 9 is a better choice for us in this case. On newer kits the french seam goes all the way around the instrument binnacle and there is no seam across the airbag.

Arominus, that has always been an option and that is what I have install d in my car. Mine is also vinyl and it matches the stock texture and look perfectly.

I also will be dealing with a dash repair at some point so I would be curious what you come up with. I have a 968 with an extremely rare matador red leather interior (1 of 2 of 4,242) . The lower dash is all stitched red leather. The upper is the standard black vinyl and cracked badly from the texas sun. I contacted just dashes and they said they couldn't help me out with my project. I also want a stock appearance. Keep us posted.

Here is a photo of my dash. I was doing the same research the two of you where and this is my results of the classic 9 dash. I am very happy with the results and it looks close to stock.

Black944, very nice. Tell us more. You pulled the dash and shipped it to them? How bad was it before they started? they did all the preparation? I would be interested to see how the vent holes were handled. can you post a photo? And the cost?

Thanks!
