Default 1987 944 Base, found a lose cable

It's right under the upper intake manifold and near the throttle body. Any idea???

Looks like a vacuum hose. Perhaps going to the brake booster check valve?

Looks like you found the same cable that I found some time back. Looks like it's 'normal' and leave it as is.

I don't see any cables in those pictures (other than the throttle cable). Are you calling the wire harness with the electrical connector on it a "cable"?

Does the car run with that disconnected? Is your idle control valve hooked up?

Item number 18 in the attached diagram. It is hidden under the intake manifold. Follow the large-ish vacuum lines...

I think this is a spare, like you and Audi49 I found this extra connector also. There is nothing to plug it into and mine ran great. I suspect that they may have used a turbo harness on my 87 NA - I never chased it any further

I also found a cable there... looked around... nothing to connect it to so left it. It is electric not vacuum.

My understanding is that it's an artifact from the earlier 944 engine setup which used an auxiliary air valve with that 2-pin connector. I forget where I read that but it's fine as it is.
