Default New speaker wire

I'm updating my four-speaker sound system. New speakers and an external amp for now. Is it worth it to run new speaker wire as well?

Probably not worth the effort. The Germans didn't skimp on the quality of the wire. It holds up pretty well.

Not really, unless your original wire was messed up by a previous stereo install.

For a few years I ran an extra pair of 6x9 in a panel in place of the back seats and spliced their feed off the rear speaker wires, worked great...there's plenty of wire capacity there. So front 4x6, rear 4x6, and the rear 6x9 driven through original wiring and a Sony head unit.

I know I'm new, But If your running and external amp the factory wire in my opinion is to small. Keep in mind your going to be pushing more watts through the wire than what was intended. 100w to 200w amp pushing power where the wires were intended for a 25w to 45w head unit.

its like running a 100w light bulb in a 45w light socket. you can do it but the wires are going to get hot.
just my 2 cents.

mainly just playing around. I found a cheap Chinese A/B amp with bluetooth input. Small sub in the future perhaps.

I upgraded the wiring. It's not a hard job and means you can use the correct spec for the power you have.
