You mention they are replicas, look for the "Triangle P" symbol, if it's there it is a Porsche wheel, probably made in Italy. If it's not there, it's still a good wheel, possibly just not as light.

S2 D90's are 16" and tire selection is VERY limited.

Those are very useful links - thanks! I misspoke - they are 17" Cup II's, and definitely replicas. I'm not a fan of the look (very 90's), and I'd like a lighter wheel. There are a couple of wheels Forgeline makes that I really like, but most of them are bigger than 17" and/or don't come in the Porsche bolt pattern.

I understand.

Please ship me your old Cup II wheels when you get your more modern ones.

Thank you.

These are 19" Carrera Classics (BBS) Similar but not as nice as the design above. I'm trying for a longer contact patch...

8" 996 fronts all round ? the "very very Light" may apply compared to other
manufacturers 18" Wheels but each wheel & Tyre must be at least 45 Lbs ?

Wow ! those Larger than Large Hoops will slow you down!

You'll have a narrower and wider patch (Left to Right) not longer (Front to rear)

45lbs is "pretty average" for a 18" wheel and tire combo in our size range.

18" 996 MY'02 carrera 5 spoke : Front 20.50 / rear 22.70 lbs

tires can vary greatly in weight though so if you really care, choose the tire carefully...

for comparison my 8x15" BBS "mesh" wheels are 14lbs or so, without a tire.
with a 225/60 tire its 38-40lbs...IIRC.

Yeah, so a Set of 4 Carrera Wheels & tyres 225/40/18 is going to be
around 180 lbs

My 16 " Cup Wheel & Tyre set is just over 140Lbs that's what you call very very light!

15" BBS wheels 14lbs each ? That sounds optimistic, are they Forged or magnesium?

They're 1-piece aluminum, not magnesium...don't know the construction, just know they are very light.

It's been a few years...I suppose I could weigh them again to be sure (I have a spare pair of 8s on the shelf) if I can find a battery for my scale

Eh, not so optimistic. My aluminum 16" Epsilon Southern Ways are about 16# each.

Ok so maybe 16 lbs each wheel which in comparison to a suggested 14Lbs is a big enough difference..all this "are about" and "or so" is not too accurate.

I tested a 944 Turbo Teledial 7x16" Set of fronts which were heavy at 40Lbs each with a 205/55/16 tyre, when changed back to the 35Lbs Cups the difference and improvement in handling was considerable.

Late offset 15" dials are 14lbs also, if there were better tire options they would be the OEM ticket for NA's IMO. I recently got a new set of 15" wheels for my first gen MR2 that are 10.3lbs each, i just wish they made them in the porsche BCD as they were not expensive and the 16/17" versions are also quite light.

Tire weight will be different for each of us unless we all run the exact same set-ups. It's subjective. Wheel weights are easily discussed and referenceable.
7x16" phone dials are 8.4kg or 18.519 pounds. That's pretty accurate. Then it's down to tire weight.
What I can tell you is my 15" cookie cutters with tires weight pretty much the same as my 16" Epsilons with tires.
