Has any one new arrived to these pages with a similar car and story ?

If so, tell us about yourself and your long serving, trustworthy love ~

Mine came to me in July of 1984 after a very long wait, with money down, on a list, and with money 'over' MSRP to the dealership

seen here in my yard before cleanup, driving thru Yellowstone National Park with friends, and at Road America on the hill under the Oaks, overlooking turn 5.
It has been a VERY faithful friend. Ran for 6 years on highspeed DE and Autocrosses @ a local road course, taken to 4 Porsche Parades and competed at Autocross, driven on many cross country trips over the 32 years of ownership. Shown it at more than a few Porsche shows....

I LOVE this sportscar !

Nice car! I like to know who makes the front speaker. I had a pair on my 944 but they were replaced a few years back. I don't know what I did with them. I want to find another pair but cant find anything online.

I know their are more like me. My dad bought the 85/1 944 that I own now new. So its been in the family since 85. This car has so many memories of going to Rolex 24, Sebring and Road Atlanta with my dad and grandfather. Its been a great car! I will post pic later of the 944 when I get home.

Thanks for the good words alfonso944 ~

to answer your questions about the speakers, they are ORIGINAL equipment Blaupunkt upgrades available back in the day for our cars when sold new. These had the speaker and tweeter combination, hence the small jut-out at the bottom. I have never seen another 944 with them.

They were quite an expensive upgrade on the option list. Sound quality was improved significantly, but must say they are NOT audiophile grade perfection. The factory speakers and sound system in my Toyota Highlander are far more superb (JBL).
I think it would be extremely difficult to source a pair today; I tried back in '87 and was told by the Blaupunkt people at their kiosk at the Porsche Parade held in Dallas that year, they were discontinued.
Best wishes and let us know if you source any !
Looking forward to more of your photos

I bought a clean, all original '86 944 from the original owner back in 1998. Refreshed almost everything on and under it, and sold it to a member here who still has it. So, the answer is no to the OP, I was still in college when they were brand new..
