I love all animals. We had a dog and two lovebirds when I was growing up. The dog basically ignored me, and the female lovebird was a bitch. The male lovebird was the most affectionate pet I ever owned.
When I got my own apartment, I got a cat to keep me company (apartments are too small for dogs, in my opinion). That's when I really started to appreciate cats. They are incredibly intelligent and wonderful animals. I eventually got a second to keep the first one company while I'm at work. They are my two babies now. I love all animals, but I really enjoy having cats because they are so clean and require so little maintenance.
My two sweeties have two distinctly different personalities. The older one is incredibly intelligent and aloof and only will give affection on her terms. The little one is more like a dog. All she cares about is getting affection. Constantly. Almost to the point of being annoying.

i absolutely hate cats! they are worthless as pets, the independent little bastards! dogs are way more fun. they are there for you and loving at all times. their love is unconditional and they always show it. if i wanted to work to have a relationship, then it wouldn't be with any damn animal! that's what a human is for. you cat people scare me.

I am alergic to cats so I have to stay away from them, I have no problems with them.
But I have had dogs all my life and there is nothing better than coming hope after a crappy day and throwing a ball for the dog, taking a spin the Porsche with him, or just hangin on the couch with him. I think people read to much into their pets but it sure seems like my dog knows my moods and how to act accordingly.
I think my girl is jealous of my dog

here is my little crack-head dog named Maddie. she's 3 years old, and so wired, she chases anything. smoke, her shadow, bird shadows, or whatever. she's so wired, she's on prozac. but ya gotta love her. whenever I stop by home, she stands by the door wiggling, squeaking, barking, and wagging her stump. nothing makes ya feel more welcome at home than a tongue bath from your pooch. Aparently, whenever a 944 turbo the same gaurd's red as my 924S drives by, she goes and stands by the garage door waiting for me to come inside. it's so cute. I wouldn't trade my dog for anything. I love her too much. well, I can't attatch a pic right now, but I'll take a new one tomorrow when I go home to do some touch-up to the 924.

I have a dog (Chow mix) and two cats.
The dog actually took a trip from NJ to Colorado with me this past summer!
He loves riding with the top down as well. I do get a lot of stares when I open the door and let him in though.
And yes, they all get along as a big happy family. (the cats like to rub up against the dog and the dog likes to explore with his tongue - dog is male, cats are both female) Actually the cats are my ex's but they'll be with me until the beginning of next year.
