Hey guys I am about to put on a fuel pressure gauge on my fuel rail and I wanted to know if you use any sort of sealant on the threads? Thanks guys for your time.

Use the off-white teflon thread tape from the hardware store. The regular white stuff will get eaten by the gas, but the off-white stuff is chemically resistant. Not sure if it is totally necessary since it is a tapered thread, but it will help with getting the fitting nice and tight.

Be careful when fitting the gauge - I have very collapsed engine mounts and still got a nice ding in my hood when I first fitted the smallest rail-end gauge.

I used a gauge that fit by lying on its back and facing up. Not good aesthetically, but it fit.

IMO these are bad news. Too much risk of leaks/fire and you can't read them under load.

I may be in the minority but I think these gauges are temporary only for testing purposes...definitely wouldn't run for any period of time with some cheap gauge dangling off the end of the rail.

I agree. I only fitted mine for diagnostics, then put the ball seal back on.

I leave mine on all the time. The Autogage gauge it comes with is crap, and will fail due to heat. I replaced it with a dry VDO gauge and it's been solid for a year or so. +1 on resistant teflon tape but it really isn't required.
