First ticket I got was at 17, doing 65 in a 35 street. Cop shot me from private land. I got pissed, but I learned you can never fight the ticket unless you know someone who's a cop. If you have connections you'll never get a ticket. I got a friend whos cousin is the police commisioner of a town. The kid can run 200 red lights and still get off. But goto court, and talk to the prosecutor. Act like your sorry, make up a story, and he'll deduct some points.

it's simple, you just show and watch movies and get a lecture
I got nailed by a speedtrap doing 80km in a 60km zone, but I just got the slap on the wrist driving school seminar deal. I think I was 18 at the time. Actually around here they are allowed to issue that driving school thing once a year so in theory I could go speed and get caught again without getting into any real trouble.

I usually refrain from speeding whenever possible now. I'm very proud of my clean driving record and would like it to stay that way.

I get a speeding ticket once a month at least. Been arrested for going so fast I jammed the radar gun. Get a lawyer. I don't have a blemish on my record. Nothing. Now I just have to get the arrest sealed from seven years ago and I'm good. Get a lawyer.

what i said about "11 over for a first ticket is out there"......around town always drive rite at 5 over. basically i just dont believe i was going 11 over, im gonna go borrow a gps from the guy across the street and take a lil cruise, but i followed a bunch of cars home from work and parked my car right at the speed limit and i was going almost exactly the same speed as all the other cars around (usually at 5 over im slowly passing them)....there have been times where i deserved a ticket...goin 125 once, following my bud in his 405hp mustang and we both passed 2 cars at the same time (100 mph) and the speed limit dropped from 75 down to 45...there was a highway patrol like 100 yards in front of us but he didnt really see us and then all he did was drive the frontage road and radar up to us...but jordan (mustang) had his dads radar detector at the time so he knew and we drove slow...........so you see, there are times when i would have humbled myself and went "crying to the judge" but this time i honestly think the cop got that radar of 36 when i was coming up a road with a 30 speed limit. he was in a parking lot and i was coming perpendicular to the road he was on, but his car was facing right at me, just over the right, didnt think he even saw me, but right after that is when he started following me. what really makes me mad is that goin on the road he was on (headed to mcdonalds for lunch) i knew he was there so i drove past 27 mph...just like every day (hes parked there all the last week) then back on that street (when he started following me) i was goin 27 again..same speed as when id drove right past him and hes essentially trying to say i was goin 11 over all those times..OR i still say he just got me 36 in a 30 zone
im pretty sure the gps is actually going to prove my speed to be accurate. my parents think i should just go pay it and try to be as humble as possible. seems most people are getting way worse tickets deferred. so, im ok with that...i just wish somehow i could be SURE...ill see what happens.

Definitely check your speedo. Remember that the original calibration is for the tires it was delivered with. With mine, it is spot on for my winter tires (55 profile) but 12% high for my summer ones. The interstate mile marker method mentioned above is the best because it's real. GPS's aren't accurate enough.
Don't worry about a mechanic's certification. The only speeding ticket I ever got was with a new Volvo whose speedo basically stuck at 65 and our 401 was posted at 70 then. I checked the speedo out, got it fixed under warranty, told the judge about it, and got let off with a warning. (True, I had 2 kids under 5 in the car, swore 100% truthfully I'd never have endangered them for a second, and had15 years driving by then without a single driving violation, but the fact is that most judges make allowance for honest people who get caught by faulty equipment.)

Alright. my first:
age 19. got the 924S a WEEK ago. driving back from lunch, some ricer wanted to play. he followed me into a school zone, and I didn't see the cop. I nailed it and ended up goin 18 over in a school zone. Pulled over, cop gave me a ticket, as he walked away, told me that it's a damn nice car and I should keep the speed down.
I notice my ticket didn't have a court date. I called up the courthouse and asked em about it. They told be that since it was a school zone, I didn't have one and just had to pay the doubled fine. I was like, "damn. how much is that?" they charged me $60.00 and sent me on my merry little way.
Parents eventually found out. Told me that if insurance goes up, I lose the car. that was almost 2 years ago. no insurance raise. I don't know how the hell it happened, but it did.
I'd been pulled over 3 times before that in my Nissan Maxima and let off every time, but man. first time in a Porsche, and it's over.

Anyway, cops often drop the stated speed, so you won't give them a hard time about it. I guess they feel bad about their role as unofficial tax collector.
