Where ya been man? It was shown that global warming caused by the greenhouse effect was a bunch of bunk of years ago! :-) Right up there with the "hole" in the ozone layer.

Sid,
I know it gets warm, but 5 months of over 100F is stating to wear thin right now. Normal temps are mid 80's...

The volvano in Monserrat released more CO2 than Humans have throughout history. Same with the Volcano in the Phillipine Islands. (That's twice as much in 10 years.) The CO2 part I agree with you guys.

On the other hand, CFC's have played a key role in the degredation of the ozone layer.

I believe Global Warming is merely a blip on the wider screen. The world is actuallyin a cooling mode. Temperatures over the past 5-7000 years have been cooling. During the age of the Dinasaurs, the global temps were 10-20'F higher. (Plus the continents were centered around the equator.)

Sorry, I ramble.

Actually James. Not only do CFC not play a key role in ozone degredation, there is no ozone degredation, other than the natural type, due to the fact that ozone is an unstable molecule.

The hole is due to the fact that the poles are in darkness 6 months out of the year.

Volcanos also put up more chlorine into the upper atmosphere, than all the CFC's made by man. And it's free chloring (unbonded) which is the problem. No one says that CFC's damage ozone, they say that Chlorine does. Somehow (and this makes no sense either) CFC's just get it up into the upper atmosphere.

And even that is a misnomer. Chlorine doesn't effect Ozone, it effects Oxygen, but with less oxygen, there would be less ozone.

I can go on for hours on upper atmospheric physics if you like, but it bores the pants off of most people.

Dry heat? I've lived in the Florida Keys and the NYC area and I'll take humid summers over the dry heat summers any day. It's kind of like a convection oven out here. 110 plus degrees blowing across your face just plain sucks. Desert or not M958 is right and this is a little ridiculous at this point.

The flip side of that is I moved here to get away from the snow so I feel for you. I'd rather have six months of heated hell then three months of snow.

3 months? It snowed in May I believe. So were going to have had 4 months WITHOUT snow.
