High Rating for TireRack & their customer service
Remember last week I bought snow tires? The web said $109 but when I spoke to the salesman he said $93. Turns out their computer screwed up and put a 215 wide tire that goes for $93 where a 225 wide tire that goes for $109 belonged.
I got the 215s last night and called a few minutes before they were closing to tell them the tires shipped won't fit my car. The salesman called me a short time after they closed to assure me he would make good. We agreed to pick it up today.
When I called back today, my salesman Clancy offered to pick up the wrong tires (expected), and apply all the money I paid (tires + $30 shipping) toward the price of another set of tires that they would ship for free.
Bottom line is they gave/saved me $30 for my aggravation.
It's not the screw up that chases customers away, its not fixing the screw up that chases them away.
Kudos to TireRack for fixing the error quickly and fairly!

All my dealings with tire rack have been nothing but good, they are normally very quick with thier products, and their prices do seem quite fair.
Glad to see they are still doing a good job.....

They even take care of the problem if it isn't their fault in the least. I ordered 16" tires, found out I had 15" wheels. They took the tires back no problem, and they didn't even want me to pay for shipping back to them, OR shipping for the correct set! Awesome.

They recently beat every local tire store by over $100 on a set of Michelins for my SUV - and that includes mounting and balancing at their local installer!
Having said that I have figured out their total price and then used that price to get a bargain at a local shop. The markup on tires is ridiculous - I have seen large chains drop a price for 4 tires by $80-100 in a second to get a customer.

two weeks ago i took tireracks price added $15 per tire and got the local guy to mount & balance the four tires on my dads minivan for that price - in a deal that was cash on the barrelhead.
i may have done the same thing with the snow tires if i realized the first set's price wasnt lowballed by a computer glitch.

I had a bad experience, but I believe that was the local tire shop that works with tirerack. Bought Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. Tires were $100 for the rears, $83 for the fronts. Final cost after mounting, balancing, shipping, tax, special delivery (?)... $655. What a rip.

3 sets of 4 tires in 3 years, snows, summer and track tires, nothing but perfect service. Somehow I keep forgetting to give credit where it's due, I keep saying that I wish more places were like Paragon but I forget that Tirerack is one that IS as good (or at least as close as it gets ).

Same here. Ordered from them over the internet and they were at my door 2 days later. Their price beat every local competitor by a fortune. The only downfall I can think of (and this has nothing to do with Tirerack) is since you don't buy the tires from a local store, you don't get the free life-time balance and rotation.

Those Tire Rack guys are the best. I've bought umpteen tires from them over the years as they live in my back yard practically.
Better yet, they always invite my local PCA to their autocrosses and little races on their professional track here in South Bend. They are Beemer drivers but that doesn't make them bad people ;-)
