944S2 MAF conversion
So I did some googling, which just lead me to old threads here about this. And the info there only leads me to MAF conversions for the 8v NA, not the 16v.
Anyone who makes a MAF conversion for the S2? I read the testing on S2's that someone made was usually around 13-ish gain across the range in both power and torque. That's pretty damn good and I want it

Since you're in Europe, contact Rennlist user "Raceboy" and ask him about a built-to-suit plug-and-play VEMS system.
It is a MAP conversion, not a MAF...and VEMS is truly awesome (I have it on my 944 too).
He is in Estonia and can help you with tuning and install etc...

Or you could get a plug and play Megasquirt, cheapest option here and 100% configurable.

The link is for a 944S but a 55 pin kit will work with the S2. Just have to tune it accordingly. MS has auto-tune for fueling, and getting a reasonable spark map isn't a big deal. As you can tell by my signature, I'm a cheerleader for this product...serves me (and many others) well, you just need to have a DIY spirit. This gets you a MAP based setup. I'm sure you could sell your S2 DME and AFM for most of what this would run you.

The VEMS system is a plug-and-play ECU.
All you have to do is:
1) install a wide-band oxygen sensor in place of the stock O2 sensor.
2) install (the provided) Intake Air temperature sensor into the intake tract somewhere
3) install (the provided) TPS onto your car in place of stock part
4) run a vacuum line from the throttle body into the cabin to plug into the new ECU
it all plugs in to the stock wiring and has a base tuning map to run the car, you do some fine tuning and go...VEMS is super easy

vems can be quite a hassle and headache if you dont know how to tune it yourself. no point telling its so easy to a guy who just doesnt know how to tune. been there done that. back to original now and lifes good again
everything is easy IF you know everything about it.

I've had VEMS for ~6 months now and find it extremely easy to work with the software.
Any questions and Peep is there to answer
I was familiar with the Rogue Tuning setup previously so I guess tuning makes more sense but the software is still pretty basic overall.

Tuning is not hard to learn... if you have basic knowledge of engine operation you are fine to start experimenting. Plus, there are tons of base maps available now for different systems. It's not that hard.

well, some might not find it very comfortable to "experiment" with their DD. plus someone who has never tuned ecu, that experimenting might turn out costlier than just a maf without any headaches. IMO . for me example i just want to enjoy the car not to learn tuning so id be able to drive with it.

besides, if you look that dme24shop maf kit, its just a little plastic pipe with maf sensor, working on original ecu and chip. why so many are failing to replicate this thing ? , it would be only couple of bucks worth material you just have to get the correct diameter pipe so its air volume is same as in AFM housing ? or what am i missing here? (probably a lot ;D)
