I'll try to get some pics today. There are several places where there are drips in the basecoat that he clear coated over, sanded thru the clear coat, ding in the driver door, wrinkly bondo, my airbag and exclamation (!) light are stuck on, etc. I'm feeling really f*****d over right now.

I don't need any monetary help yet. I'm feeling fairly discouraged right now, and trying to figure out what exactly to do. I drove the car to work this morning, about 6:30am. In the parking lot lights, in the dark, a coworker that parked ~50 feet away told me the paint job looked like crap.

So what do all the people at your work think about this since they know both of you?

I thought you inspected the paint job before accepting the car (and paying the additonal $).

I did inspect the car. I even brought someone with me to inspect the car, a trusted paint and bodywork shop owner. He said the work was not good. I told the judge this. The judge told me to pay the guy $3250.

On another note, besides the IRS 1099, I can not find anyone to report this guy to. I called the county tax office, which sent me to the state business licensing office, which sent me to the county tax office again, which sent me to codes and regulations enforcement, which sent me to state licensing and registration. Nobody cared that he was doing unregistered/unlicensed business in their state.

Call Geraldo Rivera. Or your local Better Business office.

Get an attorney.

BBB won't can't do sh*t about this. The guy isn't running a legit business and I doubt he is registered with the BBB or would guess a damn if they tried to do anything to him anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything about this. I'm really tired of dealing with this.

I may just focus on other parts of the car, and maybe hand glaze and wax the car to see if I can get the paint job to shine.

My exhaust rattles like hell from the test pipe that another fly-by-night get-up did right before the car got hit almost a year ago. If someone knows anyone selling a real test pipe (Bursch, SFR etc) for a decent price (I don't have much money now) I would like to know. The current exhaust's rattle can be felt thru the floorboard, and that just adds to my anger and frustration.

Maybe I'll just torch the car and collect insurance. There is no way I can sell this car with good conscience, nor will anyone with two half-*** working eyeballs consider buying it. 944 engine fires happen everyday.

small claims court asap. you may get a different judge. also see how much a transcript of the first case will cost.

the testimony of your body guy should be enough to pass the threshold test of damages in small claims court. then you get a lien on his wages. schweeeet if it works out.

you dont need a lawyer for small claims, just proof of the damage, like pictures, etc.
