Wow — it’s so nice to see so many familiar faces still around after all these years! It’s great to see Reenlist still going.

But what’s up with all these advertisements popping up all over the place? And what happened to my signature? Where is John D to fix this stuff?

Do you still have your fleet of 968s?
The fleet is in a bad shape…
* Amethyst Violet 968 Cab needs a replacement main bow for the top — currently top-down mode only. My 7-year old daughter has "laid claim" to it - she says it belong to her now.
* Cobalt Blue 968 Cab has something like 225k miles by now. Needs a new soft top, and the paint is fading from exposure to the sun…
* Still have the Black 968 Cab parts car.
* 944S3 is gone — I killed the engine on a track day and had to part it out.
* SilverRose 944TurboS is locked away safe - but needs a new clutch.
* I acquired one of Legoland951’s 944TurboS project car, but still remains a project…

Nice! Remember, if you want to do the Factory Tour, be sure to email them now to make a reservation (they only let 15 people in at a time). I emailed them too late and didn't get on the tour. That said, I spent 6 hours in the museum, so I would not have had the time for the tour. Although most “normal” people would have spent only about 2 hours in the museum.

Yea… you’re right. The museum had the car listed it as the “last one”, but the VIN on the vehicle is WP0CA2961PS840414 (it’s in the photos). The year code is "P"=1993. I feel cheated…

And, check out what the Porsche Museum listed as the “Black Box for 993”! Note the part number....

As for the photos.... I put together all the photos related to 924/928/944/968 and did a file-dump. I put them on Dropbox at my work:

http://tinyurl.com/PMtransaxle
or Direct Link.

There's a lot of fun little details to look at.

I'll leave them up there for awhile for anyone to view or download -- if you want the whole thing, there is a *.zip file with everything in it (but we're talking about 0.5 GB worth of files). Hopefully, you can access them without a problem.

The photos were from an iPad or an iPhone. I couldn't get good shots of the interior of vehicles because they had the windows up and reflections showed in the photos.

The speedometer is also in KM. Seems it's not a US car, as the placard describes it to be. At the very least, it's had its speedometer swapped out.

Funny that they even label it as the last one in the signage and it is not even close!!! That said, it is the last 1993 Model year North American 968 cabriolet. Of the 2,008 North American 968s it is #1,021.

I'd assumed that the riv blue cab at the Porsche museum was a ROW spec car. Given that only 5 rivera blue US spec cabs were built, that means only 4 are driving around and we saw 2 for sale in 2015. I've never seen the other 2 after all these years.

Joe - welcome back! Several parts of your black 968 cab are alive and well in my riviera blue coupe.

Trev,
It is a NA car AND it is not one of the 5 Riv blue cabs. They were all 94s. That car is a 93 and it is a Color to Sample 968. So there are 5 still driving around the US! And we've only seen three of them, 1) Raj's, 2) the super low mileage car that was for sale in Pano in the north west, and 3) the one my son Greg found in PA last year.

Default Todays Transaxle Day

Here are some photos from today's Porsche Transaxle Day.
I've never seen before so many Transaxle Porsches in one day. You could think they were still in production.
It was a great event, with very useful first hand information from people with very much insight.
This is just a small selection of my taken 200 photos

Wow, thanks for sharing. It's great seeing all those cars. When I was there in 2011 they only the red 924 prototype, 924 Boss GT racer, the pink and white 944 Turbo racer, blue 968 cab, and a 928. There was also a special one off 928 wagon built for Ferry Porsche. I think there was also a pre-production green 924. There are so many beautiful cars in your pictures to drool over, thanks again.

Went backed and looked at the pictures again and took note of the colors. A very nice cross section of colors. Porsche sure made lots of red ones like my 84. I only saw three in my S2's Stone Gray. Just look at all those beautiful Euro Bumpers.
