Yes.

Porsche did.

I have several cars with over 65,000 miles on the new revised mounts and they are still doing their job wonderfully. Buy the Porsche branded items, bite the bullet and replace them and you should be trouble free for many years and thousands of miles.

Why is any one even messing around with this garbage made in Turkey, China, Hong Kong and wherever, just for saving 1/2 to 2/3 the cost ?

The stuff they are producing under some of these aftermarket names is less quality than the cardboard box they come in.

At least the box can be re-used ..... the mounts are crap.
100% agree. I replaced my mounts with Porsche factory mounts and the car felt like it was new after the new mounts. They are pricey and it hurts the wallet but you will be satisfied with the performance.

Mine are shot, everything was shaking at idle, steering wheel was vibrating like mad. Embarassing to say the least, but I have new porsche OE one's that I will install and post up on youtube for a comparison video of old vs new oe mounts.

Just a follow up to this thread...

I reinforced my meyle mounts with some shore 65a polyurethane I had left over from doing my gearbox mount. The mounts ended up very solid and to be honest they made the car feel like ****. There was a really annoying high frequency vibration whenever I let the clutch out when starting from a stand still. The whole interior was making annoying high pitch rattles, especially when rev matching a down shift. I ended up spending an hour under the car yesterday peeling the urethane off the left hand side mount. Now she feels a lot better, no more annoying rattling!

The right side mount is still reinforced though...so I'll be able to see if it makes any difference to durability. If they fail in a year or so, I don't really care. I will cough up the coin and buy a set of genuine Porsche mounts. For a street car, I feel that anything firmer than the stock mounts just makes too much irritating noise. And normally, I am not really that concerned about comfort...I'm happy with my hard suspension, wide semi slicks, a/c delete, semi solid gearbox mount etc...but these semi solid engine mounts where just super annoying.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback.

Because my 951 project is ongoing, I decided I'll throw the reinforced mounts into my NA just to see how the window weld affects the characteristics. My old mounts are starting to get to the end of their life.

I'm NOT planning on buying these, but these chinese aftermarket mounts are dirt cheap....$7.39 each!

I'm sure they only last a few months, but would be ideal for anyone else wanting to try a reinforcement experiment.

Holy cow, unless something's changed those mounts are the steal of the century.

CRP stands for Chinese Rat Poop.

You get what you pay for.

Hell....I may buy a few, just to see...

They also have a lifetime guarantee on all their products. Interesting.

I don't want to read the thread...lol...
Was the experiment to drill a hole into the center of the cheap mount and fill it with poly?

Those mounts are so cheap I might buy a few to try that on.

No, it was to add WW to the recess that runs around the perimeter of the mount (where it would compress) to see if that would extend the life. I don't believe that any aftermarket mounts except Hamburg Technic have hydraulic filling...these are all solid rubber.
