Did a final 4 wheel alignment to the 931.
Grips so nicely when everything is in check.

These tires are kind of for the 944.

Recently bought a low profile trailer to haul the 944 on. Tires were all in some state of dry rot and were passenger tires.

Once I found out the trailer was compatible with the 944 it was time to replace the tires.

These tires are ST 205-75R-15 load range D.

ST - Special trailer tires, 65 psi and must have metal valve stems.
205 - lower profile that typical 225 trailer tire.
Load range D - 2,150# ea @ 65 psi.
Max speed 78 mph.

The cheaper tires with a lower load range also have lower speed ratings.

getting the 968 up and running, the mechanic I work with on the 944 race car is having some fun with the 968. fixing 4th and 5th gear and pinion gear, swapping out some worn bushings and shocks, making sure the belt and tensioner are fresh, alignment, and some new continental DWs. Next comes a detail, and then I'll post a couple of shots.

205 is the section width. 75 is the aspect ratio (profile). (The profile of the tire is 75% of the section width, in this case).

I was a tire engineer - so these things jump out at me.

I will admit that I am not a know-it-all as many in RLOT have subtlety suggested.

I thank you for your response.

The horse trailer has ST 225 R-15 tires.

It is a three-horse slant load with full living quarters, loaded I'm guessing 6k#s.

My original intention was to put new tires on the HT and put those older tires on the car hauler.

This can still be done as the new tires have not been mounted yet.

How much, if any, will the 225s increase the height of the 944 trailer
Over the 205s?

A wandering mind is wondering.

Do you know what the aspect ratio is for the 225s? That is vital to the calculation.
Assuming it is also 75 then the 225/75R15 should have a diameter of about 28.3 inches. The 205/75R15 should be about 27.1 inches.

That will create a ride height difference just over 1/2".

Rebuild a 944 they said! It'll be fun they said!

Brake Pads (all the way around): $166

Injector (only 1. WitchHunter Performance informed me one of them was leaking externally, so in the words of the Teflon Don, "You're Fired!": $164.25

Inner and Outer Front Sway Bar Bushings (old ones were rotten and torn): $43

Total Cost: $373.25

God help me...
