Prelude to a car theft?

nothing is wrong with the NRA. I would not even show my firearm until my life was being threatened (like being asked to leave my car by another with a weapon) Lego did you vote today?

I happen to agree with BB on this one... of course the law is just like sports in this matter - the person who threw the first punch almost NEVER gets caught, but the person who retaliates does almost every time. I've spent more time in police custody over protecting myself/my family than I the criminal I detured (most likely).
Dad always taught me, dead men can't testify and the Jury determines right and wrong (even if the action was clearly against the law).

"My only problem with people defending their property with force is that not enough people are doing it. We have become a society that has been programmed to "do what the bad man says." Someone mugs you? Give them your wallet. They break into your house? Give them your TV. Hell, entire airplane-loads of people will surrender to a guy with a box cutter because we are supposed to "do what the bad man says." Because of that, it makes it very easy for criminals to continue doing what they are doing because they know that odds are, they'll get what they want without a fight. "
I'm not a gun nut, but this is exactly how I feel. By giving in to them, we have done nothing but breed a generation of the boldest and most ruthless criminals in our history.
We need more rights for people who defend their families and property, and less rights for the criminals.

Race Car
Its only a car but I can relate to some of the frustrations expressed. I am tired of criminal rights instead of victim rights though I don't believe in shooting someone over a car. I do believe the punishment should be severe like in Singapore where canes are used as a tool of punishment. I believe we should make rules where people are free to own their property without someone screwing with it and punish severely when caught

James , I live just off of 140 near Hickory Flat(Woodstock Address) . We have seen a lot of car thefts here by the illegals working on the constructions crews. No rime or reason, just see a nice car and steal it. The state of his vehicle sounds like a clue.

I really don't see how this thread should be scaring anybody. While I can't speak for anyone else, I'm certainly not saying that my car is worth more than someone's life. Even if that said person is a car thief who apparently has no intention of ever doing anything productive for society. But then, I don't really think that's the point.
Personally, my point is simple deterrance. Most criminals will go after the safer, easier targets. If they think that they might get their heads blown off while breaking into a house or car, they'll go to a less secure target. And if society, as a whole, decides that were are no longer going to give up our wallets, TVs, cars, or whatever just because the bad man says so, we've just made their task much harder.
Never underestimate the value of deterrance... I don't know about the rest of you, but if I'm going to break into a house, and I have a choice of a house with a big gun, a house with a big dog, or an unguarded house, you can bet I'm going to go for the unguarded house. And if there's a decent chance that I might get shot breaking into any given house, well, maybe I'll just find something else to do that night...
Just something to think about...
