Default Engine Bay Dress-up

Has anyone used paint, polish, colored wire sets etc. to spruce up under the hood. I'd appreciate pics if anyone's got a good example. Thanks

I just got the Lindsey Racing Fuel Rail kit, it really spruces it up under there, and makes it safer.

Definitely check out Brian Perry's (Perry951) engine pics. He did a ton of work to it while it was out of the car and all apart.

I did a little just on the head. You can see where I shot some hi-temp paint on the background to the "PORSCHE" lettering after cleaning it up a bit:

If it's on the engine, it needs to be hi-temp paint. If the part's off, powdercoating is even better.

I'd go with powder coating if it's an option for you. The main reason is that if I get any type of chemical on my perty motor, it's waisted. I used regular hi-temp paint.

jjmson20, sorry man, I'm in love with my motor. It took quite a few hours to get it that nice. I spent about a week and a half on just the intake and cam housing. I think it was worth it tho. So thanks for the compliment.

I know VHT engine paint is solvent resistant...I used it on my Bowtie 355, and it never came off. I even used Toluene, and brake clean. Never MEK though...a tad overkill for your common dirt/grime.

Nine-44: are you using the NA clutch assembly or upgrading to the larger turbo clutch. Are the splines the same, and the diam. just different? You or anyone can else email me at: Chas944@yahoo.com, for I do not want to tread all over this post.

TIA!
Take Care

I second VHT, it's awesome stuff.

Also, to all of you recommending powdercoating, it does NOT hold up to heat as well, though it does hold up to chemicals better. Powdercoating is done around 600', whereas a good high-temp paint can withstand 1000'+.

On a properly functioning engine, should be irrelevant, but wanted you to know.
