Default Leather Treatment

What is a good product to use on the leather seats? Mine are not cracked, and I want to prevent this as much as possible.

Thanks

Lexol has been the default 'king of the hill' for a loooong time (I remember my dad using the stuff on his 63 'Vette back in the late 70's early 80's). There may be newer, but you can't argue with something's that's worked for better than 2 decades and is still going strong.

The trick is to rub it in by hand, like giving your seats a massage. Sexy, in a strange automotive way. Don't let your wife catch you though.

Lexol smells weird. Mild, but weird, sort of like hay.

Someone mentinoned Griot's Garage leather treatment...I was thinking of ordering it.

Leatherique was a waste of money to me!

I was very happy with Leatherique on my seats. I dindn't think they were all that dirty until I tried the stuff.

The Brits have a product called "Hide Food" that is supposed to be the "Be All and End All" of leather conditioners, but I use Lexol because it is less expensive and easier to get.

I have a bottle of the Griots but have not had a chance to use it yet, maybe next weekend.

Lexol is very good stuff
The Connelly hide food is a good conditioner but not really a cleaner.

Hide food is made from rendered animal parts and is supposed to go rancid after a couple of years. That doesn't sound too good but I believe Connolly leathers recommends it (i.e. Jaguar, Rolls Royce etc.)

And is Lexol good for cleaning? Dying? Or just "moisturizing"?

I have some sratches that show the brown of the leather through the black and want to fix that too.

Suggestions?
