The stock 'yellow' is OK. In fact it is my personal choice.
Soak that dirty one in a covered jar of gasoline for a few hours, rinse off with warm soapy water or better yet, with simple green or a like cleaner, and wipe it clean and dry with a clean towel

It will look just like new.
And add detail and beauty to the engine compartment.

Agreed with the others thus far. There are plenty of places to add billet stuff- I'm a fan of the shift pattern inserts, seat levers, etc., but the engine bay just seems weird. Want to dress up the engine bay, spend $50 on fancy vacuum lines, or paint the cam tower, or whatever.

I bought a new yellow cap for my 944 and was disappointed that it no longer says "OEL" but the boring English "OIL." Maybe I will try to clean my old cap.
The cap is important, though - there's an O-ring in there that seals the AOS. If the O-ring fails or isn't sealing properly, it's a vacuum leak.

Nice looking filler cap Sam.
The additional weight of the billet cap is likely a non-issue IMO given its placement and the sturdiness of the material - provided it doesn't get 'ghetto' sized.
Another point I'm surprised no one mentioned is the fact that the filler cap and the dip stick handle match.

I had to take the cap off my turbo 944 today and it just dawned on me seeing these billet caps that there's precious little room to get your hands in there (especially my old arthritic paws) and grip the cap. I use a pair of pliers lightly gripped around the flat blade in the top of the plastic cap to loosen it so I can take it off. Just my opinion, plus I like the OEM look of it.
