Default Best 944 carpet kit?

I'm looking for a full carpet kit. I do not want to reinvent the wheel or guinea pig it up.

I'm looking for those with experience with a particular brand or vendor to give me your opinions on which to go with.

Just looking for black, light weight if possible.

Thanks,
Matt

I did a rear seat delete about a year ago and replaced the entire carpet with perlon felt from Appbiz.

The precut pieces fit together quite well and has held up over the last year.

Appbiz has a few auctions on e-bay that you maybe interested in:

I long considered the appbiz kit but ended up making a similar set for my own car out of a similar felt carpet material.

All-in-all it took a few days of cutting and gluing and about $100 for all the materials.
I had time to kill, and previous carpeting experience, so I was OK on my own. Nice part is, the full car's worth of carpet is under 10 lbs (front floors, tunnel, back seat sides, trunk carpet, and re-covered rear seat cushion in the carpet material to blend in too).

If you aren't comfortable with upholstery type work and/or are short on time, I would recommend the appbiz kit, the work is top-notch and the guy is nice.

I had to do lots of sections.
Driver floor front, driver floor rear, passenger front/rear, tunnel front/rear, rear seat kick panel for each side...etc

Strong. What did you use to hold it down, specifically?

Here's a link to my thread from years ago, I was the guinea pig with the AppBiz kit but it turned out nice. I still own the car and the felt has held up well, though I only put a few thousand miles on it each year. Shaved 70#'s of weight with the project if that's what your after, including the spare tire and rear seat delete. I detailed some of this on page 3 of the thread. There's also a link to the pdf I created when designing the kit on page 5. I can't guarantee the AppBiz kits match what I have in the PDF but as mentioned in the thread I ordered some extra material and did a few custom pieces.

When I was looking for materials and a supplier I ordered a few carpet/felt samples from a couple of suppliers, they all seemed more than willing to send a few swatches. I went with their standard felt which was the lightest material at the time. For a daily driver you'll want to use car mats, I've left mine out.

Great post, thanks. I looked through your PDF... What was the material you used in the rear hatch (appeared to be sound deadening) under the carpet, and on the rear seats?

i did later get some Lloyd floor mats for extra protection but the carpet seemed OK without them.
the mats were on sale and too cheap to pass up.

Yeah, it was a sound deadening material that I found online if I remember correctly. Similar in material to carpet pad but with a foil face. The foil isn't necessary and in fact makes the rear deck slippery so I used Velcro to hold the hatch piece in place. I couldn't find a receipt for it which is odd because I have a file full of all my other receipts for the car. I think you could also just use a lighter carpet pad as an underlay. I also used 3M Super 77 for most of the pieces and padding.
