Was debating that, but it's for the NA and I've literally put more into this car in the past 60 days alone than the whole car is worth. There is a used one on ebay I'm debating grabbing. If it was for my 951 (whose original shaft is perfect) I wouldnt hesitate, but it's getting hard to justify for the NA. I just want everything mechanically fixed (don't mention the cosmestics) and the steering shaft is just about the last thing I havnt done. I intend to DD the car for at least the next 2-3 years minimum once it's back on the road.

If you intend to dd for a few years then there is no excuse not to get the new shaft. Who knows how much worse the already 30 year old shaft will get in 2-3 more years.

And we're all in over our heads cost wise... I don't think there's a single person on here who hasn't spent more than the car's value. I could be in a 996 by now...

I could be in a 996 just from what I've spent on the 951. It's funny though how in my mind, I can easily justify every penny I've spent on that car because "well, it's fast as **** right!" but the NA I have a much harder time with, despite the true honest fact that they are probably worth about the same (since my 951 is a swapped NA car and gutted inside).

I'll get the new shaft.

I'd sure appreciate that AJ. I'm considering the new shaft, but if someone can give me a good condition used one for a price I can't say no to, I'd consider that too. I'm in a bit of a difficult situation presently, the 951 is parked 3 hours way from me and while it has a mint condition factory shaft, I can't leave that car without a way to steer it in case I need to move it on short notice.
