911 owners stealing 924 cars

Doesn't Magnus Walker have a sweet 931 now as well? I think it's great, they're finally getting some love from the group that's traditionally had a stick up their *** about these cars (no offense to the majority of 911 owners on here that aren't like that).

I think most 911 guys just want a car they actually daily. Can't tell you how man guys I know with 911s in the garage and not on the road. Unless you got the dough man it's expensive.

Confession first, I am 911 owner. I daily mine but with 3 other cars that only I drive it only gets 7-8k a year. I really don't think cost is the reason for many 911's being garage queens. I think it is that usage causes degradation and they want perfect cars. My car is in top running order and looks nice. It will never be perfect and that makes it easy for me to drive it and enjoy it.
You know there are plenty of 924/944/968 owners that snarf up 911's too.

I always noticed that 911s actually get driven/DD'ed more than most similarly-priced/prestiged sports car. It's practical, reliable, and you can actually use it as a car and not just a social status icon. Around Houston I see a 997 every 5 minutes it seems which is cool.

I don't think we want to discuss how many 911's are garage queens vs how many 944's are garage queens. We really don't want to talk about why.

Something else breaks (usually a simple fix) and u tap out, put the cover over it and say ur keeping the miles low.
To some degree I think that 924s and 944s are the more desirable cars, becuz of the beating and neglect they've taken, but how cheaply u can get them back on the road. Drive the crap out of them and if something goes wrong, its a few hundred dollars and ur back up again. They don't have the engine failure 996 problem. Gotta love an underdog!

I will say growing up as a Kid I always wanted an 88 911 targa top , and since not everything in life works the way you want it go , I was more than happy to jump on a semi neglected 88 924s for 900 bucks. Mine of course has more issues than I would especially like to admit to my wife lol but its the Porsche I've always wanted and the price was right. Even though the car has been drug through hell , repainted 1 3/4 times and had the interior partially dyed and right now has a coolant purging issue it runs like a champ with 97k on her. Like it has been said in above comments and I would have to agree , the price, the cost maintenance, and the absolute fun of the drive I think greatly outweigh the benefit of having a garage kept trailer queen 911. My 924 isn't just a nice day car , its an everyday car.
