Default Rattly sunroof fix ?

Hi all,

When closed my sunroof makes an awuful rattly noise ! Whats the best way to cure this should i take off the sunroof liner and ensure its fixed ok or stick it down with some contact ashesive. Is it gonna be the header in the rest of the car? Anyone come across this one ?

Thanks

Phil

Mines got a bad squeak when it's down, but I don't know about Pheedbak's.

If it squeaks, try rubbing a candle or some soap on the seal.

If it is rattling - take a look at the arms that hold the roof in. Are they resting right at the peak of the L-shape that they sit in when the roof is closed? If not, then the microswitches are out of adjustment and the roof isn't closing tight enough.

Is it the roof itself rattling on the body or the liner on the roof? Mine was the liner on the roof. Take the liner off (pry out small plastic rivets along the side, screws on top of liner). My foam padding was all but disentigrated. Refoamed, ok now.....

it rattles loads when its down (closed ) but when open (tilted) its pretty quiet... so maybe its the fitment in the actual roof rather than the padding in the sunroof bit...

its difficult to maintain road position and check sunroof for rattles

Mine does the same thing- it kind of squeaks/rattles- it will also do it, slightly, in the fully raised position- I usually have to keep it open about 95% of the way to make it not squeak at all- very annoying- NOW- remove the lid- check each metal box that holds the arms that open/close it- is one (or both of them even the slightest bit loose at all, in any way? My passenger one is- I can't figure out how to fix it other than to replace- I've been told, here, that it's broken inside(?)... Anyway, that's about all the input I have...

Would LOVE to have someone tell me more....
