Default GENUINE 944 CUP MIRRORS - The Holy Grail of Parts?

Hi all.

I was just wondering if i had a pair of New Old Stock, never fitted, Genuine 944 Cup Mirrors, how much would they be worth? Obviously i am talking about the stupidly rare early plastic mirrors that were fitted to the 944 Cup Race cars, part numbers 477875722 b and c

I understand that 2nd hand used items are very very hard to find let alone purchase and new ones are NLA. I have looked on various websites and forums and new or new old stock units seem to be non existent.

If i was to stumble on a set of NOS mirrors would i really have the Holy Grail of 944 parts?

Thanks

Not extremely rare yet, as the mirrors were a production part (for both the 924 and M637 option) and available thru Porsche up until about 2 years ago. So compared to other unique motorsport Cup parts, there are quite a few of them out there.

Hard to say what someone would pay for them right now. The list price was around $150 each, depending on source, when I last bought a spare set.

Holy grail of Cup parts are probably the magnesium intake mainifold, oil pan, Matter cage, and maybe the fiberglass hood and attachment parts. Although as time goes by, everything is getting harder to find....

I would guess probably around $400-$600? They're a cool part but personally I couldn't see paying that much when I could just buy aftermarket CF mirrors that are lighter and more aerodynamic for less money. Sure, they're not bolt on but that doesn't matter much to me.

Still, someone who wanted a bolt on solution or someone more interested in "authenticity" might be willing to pay more since they're no longer available new.
