Default Does anyone want to split a 1990 S2 cab with me?

There's a ratty looking S2 cab for sale near me, he's asking $3500 (I bet he comes down...), allegedly has 96k on the clock. In short, I'm interested in snagging the motor and tranny but just don't have the space/storage capacity for an entire car. Just thought I would at least give this a whirl before giving up

I was wondering if anyone on here would want to go in on it together, I get the motor/transaxle and the other guy gets everything else. I would pay at least 50% of what the entire purchase price is, after all expenses, but that can be discussed. I'm willing to meet/negotiate/transport to my residence, and will remove my parts, logistics would need to be developed after that.

It would be a cheap buy in for a project, maybe someone wants to make a 951 cab or start with arguably the most desirable 944 series car for an engine swap. Even as a part-out there's a lot left - brakes, suspension, cabrio parts, etc. and I don't need stuff like the DME, harness, AFM, entire ignition system, or a lot of the other auxiliary stuff. Again, I just don't have the space.

$3500 isn't a bad price for just the S2 engine and trans.
Howabout you just make that one run MS too?
It does look rough, and its got a wrong wheel...

Send it off to azbanks, he can have a parts car spare for his nice cab

That's a project, not to mention as you did that the correct mileage may be in question. Good luck and hope you can negotiate way down.

My plan would be to just swap the S2 motor and trans into my car, keeping the standalone in place. Easy peasy, for the most part...

Yeah I wouldn't be shocked if it was 196k, in fact I find that easier to believe! I was hoping he would take $2500. Of that, I'll put it out there, I would pay $1800 cash. Come on guys... $700 S2 cab roller the front bumper setup w/ lights, the DME, and rear valence are worth that alone.

If it were a 968 I'd be all in!

On second thought...PM sent.

So no AFM, power steering reservoir, not sure there are exhaust manifolds, cab leaks, brake booster/valve cover have some odd extreme corrosion, wheels=fail, and paint=fucht. Not saying it isn't worth it but, does it run?

No idea on running condition. If someone were to actually jump on board with me, I'd end up rebuilding the motor anyway. I agree it's rough, no question, just wanted to see if anyone was crazy enough to want it for parts/project.

I see a revival of the Campeck roadster in your future.

I'll buy the front struts off you. You'd need to post to the UK but I'd happily cover that!
