Anyone ship their torque tube from CT to Black Sea?
Hi all,
I was trying to find a local option but everyone keeps recommending Black Sea. Anyone here have experience with them and had shipped one from CT? I'm trying to get an idea on budget.
I'm guessing they only do their super bearings?

I did not send Constantine my torque tube to rebuild, I just paid the core charge since he was able to source one to build locally to him. I believe he will only install their super bearings (worth it...) and shipping was right around $75 bucks (one way) to have him ship the completed TT from him to me in Bowie, MD (near Washington DC).
Give Constantine a call and talk to him about it, he will give you a rundown of the various options and costs. His stuff is top notch and he stands behind it.

I shipped mine from Long Island to Constantine a few years ago using his shipping directions. Cost was about $100 give or take through FedEx. The way i remember it is the torque tube is basically right on the verge of being over sized depending how you measure it, once you are over sized the price goes up considerably.

Actually you can make a much simpler one using about 7" of 3" PVC pipe, 3" to 2" PVC reducer and some pool noodle as a buffer between the drive shaft and the PVC.
Haven't had a problem yet.

I still have my PVC and noodle cap that you sent on my TT kicking around here somewhere! Gotta be honest I had to laugh when I saw it, it's so simple and yet so ingenious!

The hardest part is removing the TT. The bearing replacement (with the super bearings) is not
that difficult. If you are removing the TT yourself, you would have no problems replacing
the bearings.

CVR rally: good luck! be sure you position the car the way you want it because unless you put the rear suspension back up fairly quickly, it will stay there for a while until Conststatine gets the shaft back to you. the rear suspension is heavy..be sure to use about two jacks and lots of cribbing, or 4X4 blocks to keep from bending the dust shields if it falls off the jack. The TT is pretty heavy too, so watch yourself upon the removal and be ready for it. Just some hints, and good luck..
