Default Ways to bypass cat on an S2?

My catalyctic converter is dead and I need to pass emissions soon. My dad is willing to donate his cat to my car if i can find a way to bypass his. He has an '89 S2 track car that doesn't need a cat anyway because it isn't streetable. My '87 S can take his cat as long as I can get something to put in place of his. Any ideas?

go to a muffler shop and take the cat(or length/diameter/flange size) and have them make a test pipe.

Ian, the muffler shop is the way to go. Cut out the cat and have them fab up a test pipe for dad's car.
