Who said 944S2 where faster then 951 from 0-60?

nope. i have to complain when people keep beating dead horses and get nowhere whilst proving that they're retarded. this forum has been headed downhill lately with the advent of several no-talent assclowns apperaing/making their prescence more known. now i have to wade through tons of crap because people cant keep from posting idiotic things on this board. granted the 944S2/951 'competition' is somewhat on-topic, i am really tired of seeing it on the forum.

Huh? The discussion thus far has been nothing but cordial and informative, hardly a pissing match.
Either way, those numbers seem a bit off.. and I think it depends on the car. I've gotten well below 8 second 0-60 in my 87NA with a sane launch (not killing the clutch).

Personally I put more importance in time to distance. On the road who cares how long it took to get to speed. It's a question of who's further ahead. I usually look at 1/4 mile trap speeds too becuz it's less dependent on launch ability and gives an idea of how well a car accelerates once it's already moving.

Its funny but we can choose to ignore threads we don't like. Its also funny how we are comparing drag racing numbers for a non drag car (for all the people who make fun of american muscle cars, sure sounds like 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are important to them). I better not hear anyone posting times on this thread saying things like crapmaro etc

Ok. lemme jump in here a litte.
Stock for stock, I believe the S2 cannot win a 0-60 vs. a 951.
However, from personal experience, I've found that in 4th, the pulling power of an S2 is greater than a 951. Case in point: my friend (who lurks on this board once in a while) with a slightly breathed upon 951 with a mad suspension was following me around Watkins Glen: I was driving my stock 944S2. Coming out of turn 1, we both grab 4th before turn 2 and the esses. He has video of me pulling away from him quite substantially through the esses. Of course, once we hit the back straight, he caught up to me in no time!!

Below is a cut and paste from my thread where this was hashed over a couple of months ago. Here's the cut and paste done quite well from Dave120
********************CUT & PASTE*************************
here's some specs from the book 924, 944, & 968: A collector's guide.
944 turbo (non S) 0-60 in 5.9 secs
944 turbo S: 0-60 in 5.4 secs
944 S2: 0-60 in 6.0 secs
89 944 NA: 0-60 in 7.5 secs
944 S: 0-60 in 7.3 secs
Now if you look 0-100 times,
944 S2: 0-100 in 15.5 secs
944 Turbo (non S) 0-100 in 14.9 secs
944 turbo S 0-100 in 13.5 secs
944 S: 0-100 in 21.1 secs
89 944 NA: 0-100 in 20 secs
These are as-tested #s though...the factory is a little conservative I think
END CUT & PASTE***************************
Here's the link to the post. All you ever wanted to know about the 951/951S/944/944S2/968 rivalry and more!!!!!!!
