How do I install steel front control arm bushings that last little bit? (pics)
How do I install the bushings that last little bit? I've tried everything, the bolt and washer method, a big vise, a press, nothing seems to work. My problem is that there is no material for an oversized (like say 30mm) socket or something of that nature to sit flush and stabile on the control arm and act as a spacer which I can press against, but which will allow the bushing to pass through it and seat without interfering. This is the second time in a few months time I'm attempting this again after struggling with it before, setting it aside and getting busy, and promptly forgetting about it. How do guys normally do this, pictures or at least a clear explanation would be great? I've done this myself years ago on more than one old 944 I used to own, but I had access to a full shop back then and I dont remember it being that difficult. I don't remember how I got them in. Thanks guys!

My reasoning behind using soapy water on those bushing was once the water dries the bushing can no longer spin in the arm. I did however use silicon spray on the rubber spring plate bushing. They were a mother to get in.
