after oil change 0 oil pressure!!
After my rebuild I was advised to use 15W40 for approximately 1000 miles to bed the cylinder rings in. Today I've changed my oil and oil filter and switched to duckham 20W50. I used the correct Mahle filter.
I've heard about the good results on Mobil 1 15W50, but this oil isn't availably anymore in Holland.
Everything went fine after the oil change and I drove the car for 20 miles, two hours later I started the car for another drive but the oil pressure would't build up and just stayed at 0. I had the car running for 20 seconds but pressure stayed 0. I didn't dare to rev the engine fearing I would ruin my rebuild engine.
I think my oil pressure relief valve is sticking but it can't be gunked up. I cleaned it during my rebuild and even fitted a new relief valve cylinder.
What should I do?! Any advise would be appreciated.

I hope that you have better luck than me but I have been chasing a slow to build oil pressure for months. It seems like the oil pickup tube on mine had the wrong seal beneath it so it was sucking air. If I were you I'd try to prime the oil pump by pouring oil down the oil filter housing. Even though it built pressure before this oil change, it might be a good idea to make sure that the crank pulley bolt is torqued down to 150 ft. lbs.

I drove the car immediately after the oil change and everything was fine, after standing still for two hours suddenly there was no pressure.
I changed all the seals of the engine even the one on the oil pick up tube, also torqued the crank pulley bolt down to exactly 210 NM. Tomorrow I'm going to check my relief valve.

I think that if you had pressure initially that systems are Ok. zDo the simple things first i guess, change the oil and put on a new filter. The check valve might be hanging preventing flow.

did you hear any lifter noise when you started it??? if not you could have a faulty sender wire or faulty sender... check the simple stuff first before tearing into the car...

When I started the engine, the lifters were very noisy, so the top of the engine wasn't receiving any oil.
I never heard of an oil filter going wrong, is this a common problem for zero oil pressure?

I had this happen to me once; turned out that oil had gunked/plugged itself up into the engine block! I had to have my engine roter-rutered out!
Was fine after that; always made sure I knew what oil went into my car after that!

Oh, had lousy oil pressure on my boyfriend's Eagle Talon, turned out to be the Oil sender unit. Replaced that, oil pressure has been normal ever since.

i have a suggestion, that hasnt been mentioned yet, check your oil preassure gauge. check the wires on both ends, grounds etc.
for all you know you could have a loose wire or somthing. the day before i took off to go cross country, i lost oil preassure. i about **** my pants, because i didnt wanna miss this trip after all the money and planning that i had put into it. i checked the gauge, and the wire came loose.

This is an obvious thing, but has happend before.. Did you tighten the oil pan bolt? IT sounds like you drained the oil out somehow. You were fine before the oil change.. Lifter noise indicates no oil or no pump. There was a recent thread on putting on something backwards on the oil pump drive side of the pulley.. but the fact that you put on a 1000. I dought this has come into play. I have no experience with this.. just going of of what I have read..
