Smile Plastic TT bering inserts

Do the plastic inserts usually break up if you try to press them out of the old bearing? Just wondering if they can be reused...I know that there are prints to re-make them out of delrin, and I will probably purchase a new set , or make some up, but just wondering...clues will help. Thanks.
