Default Upgraded Headlights:

I couldn't take anymore dim dashlights and weak road allumination. I replaced all of my interior dashlight bulbs and I switched out my old headlights with a set of Halogen bulbs (sealed unit type) for 30CDN. It's better but im thinking of returning them and getting the bosch interchangable bulb style. Has anyone bought the Bosch set for the car? What color of light does it give off? Does it work well in your opinion? I have also seen those cheap HID kits on ebay. Has anyone installed them? ( I wouldn't mind the blue tint for merely visual purposes)

Get some from Ice Shark, even if it's bulbs only I guarantee that you will not regret it.

The 7" Bosch H4 55/60W setup work fine for what they are at about $120 + Taxes - PM me if you want a set I have for sale. They provide pretty decent white light.

I upgraded to the IceShark Full Boat lighting kit, but it is $350 US before duty and taxes. I have a few pictures of the harness and light set up at https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...5&pagenumber=2

BTW, forget about the eBay lights - crap - and DON'T run anything higher than the 55/60 as the stock wiring harness will FRY!! Porsche did NOT use relays on the HL circuit, so all the current flows through the HL switch and column stalks. Recipe for disaster in a 15 y.o. car to increase the current loads.

H4's

Even with standard wattage bulbs.

You'll never buy another set of head lights again.

How was the dash illumination after changing the bulbs? Did you go higher wattage or? Easy DIY job? Thanx.

FWIW, higher wattage can melt the plastic parts

Be carefull about Bosch H4 headlights.

On the Hella side there is the Vision Plus which is better known as "Vision Minus". You for sure don't want them. Then the standard E-Code Hella, which is not that great. The Hella Super (#95098) is good, but good luck finding it in North America, much less for cheap.

I've been using Cibies (Valeo) which are the best from my tests. $45 each and then add in the H4 bulbs. Look at Danno's site for pictures of Ben's install of the lenses alone with some 90/100 watt bulbs. No new wiring. Which I wasn't real happy with since he was sucking so much current through the original wiring and switches. You will get similar results with some high performance 55/60 watt bulbs, but not quite as bright. If you rewire, then it is a whole 'nother story. You will light up the night like a Misssippi Tow Boat.

Click on lighting button.

"light up the night like a Misssippi Tow Boat"

Never get a hotel room over looking the inland water way in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida!

That and the deep throb will drive a quite country boy to drinking! Well at the Hog's Breath Saloon!

LOL! Yeah, Ive been on the Intercostal Waterway there, also. While these captains have radar that can pick up a beer can floating in the water, they still want to see things with their own eyes. At least the good ones.

I ran the lower Miss at night and you could see these tows shining up the sky from at least 12 to 25 miles due to the massive spotlights they used. Which was good so they didn't run me and my little sailboat over with a big load of salt or coal.

I've heard the light cannons on those Tugs will burn the feathers off of the birds that fly to close to the lamp.

Steve, you need to call them "Tows" not tugs. The guys get mad if you don't distinguish. Don't ask me why they like the "tow" term since they usually push barges.

I can believe the bird singeing feathers business. The lights are monsters and the boats have the power to drive them, in spades.
