one of the rich kids from my hometown just traded his clk320 in for a new amg clk55. my favorite comment concerning the kid's new car actually came from one of the girls in the group - "i guess nick's ***** got smaller." (way to make the rest of us feel better, carrie).

The new AMG E55 is 476 HP not 493. Yes, it has an SL55 engine in it but the exhaust system is 1/4" smaller in diameter to that of the SL55. i guess that restriction drops the power down to that not to mention the ECU was reprogrammed to be more mellow. If Brabus comes out with a chip to override it, the E could be as much as 500HP! I saw a video of an SL55 and a Corvette ZO6 freeway racing. It appears that the SL55 spanked it as they exceeded 100 mph. I would expect that since the car is quicker than a 996 Turbo in 0-180 mph!
