Question swap front seats?

Just curious, since the left lumbar support of my driver's seat is wearing, I wondered: can the front seats be swapped? I figure the floor mounting hardware is different, but the seats themselves, can they be changed?

I do have the electric driver's seat, only problem I can guess at this point. Wondering if anybody's attempted it...

TIA

Goody

No good - the switches will be in the middle.

On the 4 way power seats you can change the seatbacks side to side and put the worn bolster in the middle.

2 phillips screws, 2 e clips and 2 bolts per side. Maybe 30 min.

Hey, where'd my Rennlist Member reference go?

Thanks triscadek, never even thought about just the seatbacks. Will give that a shot...

You can change the seats if you wanted to and relocate the power switches to the other side of the seat. Yeah there'll be a hole on the other side where it was, but its in the middle against the console where you'd never see it. Didn't someone on here do that not too long ago?

Doing the seat back thing is probably a much better idea though.

You will have to change the seat backs. The mounting holes are different on the left and right side of the rails and you cannot put a power seat on a non-power rail. The power seat is welded to a portion of the rails and the non-power seat is not.

You could always reupholster them. Kits are only $299 and its something you can do yourself in a weekend.

I'm going to try the seat-back switch thing myself.

Just change the seatbacks side to side. They're identical, and you end up with the worn bolster on the tunnel side of the passenger seat. It's easy to do. I did it in about an hour.

I wanna change my seatbacks!! My passenger seatback is mint, and the driver's makes noise.

How do I do it again?? Where are the "E-clips", and how do I get them off? I would hate to pull the seatback off, and not be able to put it back on correctly!

David Rooney picked up a set of burgundy sport ones last month.

My upholsterer is booked up until the middle of October so all the custom colors (other than black sport and standard & burgundy standard) cannot be produced until then. I do have a bunch of samples to send out of our colors and material if you would like to find the one that best matches your interior in the mean time.
