Default WTB Race Dash for 924S race car

I would like a Broadfoot designed dash but I don't want to wait for several months. Looking at the GT Racing dash too. Anyone have one they want to sell?

the 924/924S dashboard weighs under 7 lbs by itself...
how much weight do you really expect to save?

I would imagine it's more about a custom guages/electronics setup rather than weight loss.

You could have your local hvac shop make one up.

Removing the unnecessary wiring in the car and relocating the mechanical water temp, oil pressure and oil temp gauges. Also have a shift light and an Aim Solo to better position.

My mechanic/friend is a wizard with fab'ing stuff from metals but he would rather I go with the molded race dash set up as they are "clean". Only problem is getting one made in a timely manner.

Chris, are you heading up this way any time soon? Need to let you look at the 968, and all I've done with it. I can get another dash made, but my fiberglass guy is really hard to get anythign out of until the very last minute.

Spencer, there is a TON of weight in there. I've gutted all that crap from mine. My Turbo is right at 2350, the 968 hasn't been as gutted, but still weighs in at 2450. Chris' list is a good solid 50 pounds of stuff.

Kind of a shame and maybe not cost effective but if you purchased 951NJ's dash & then your fabber could cut out the out panels & rivot in some new ones (the 2 flat panels where the gauges mount), then cut the holes as per your preference.

I like this dash & think I'll be borrowing from it's design for the base profile in my sled. How's it for reflection?

Hello Harry, will see you at the end of the month. Wanted to have it swapped out by then. I really like the Broadfoot dash like Hal B & John but I can't get in contact with them. Phone just rings, messages are full. I think 951NJ's dash is the GT Racing version, which GT has in stock. I'm running out of time to have it completed by months end so I may just wait until June when the engine is out for the scheduled rebuild.

You can away pick up a stock later dash and put that in. That's what I did. I just made carbon fiber panels where the stock cluster and vent was.
