Default the 951 see-saw

I have just about had enough of this 280zx see-saw action every time I accellarate and shift. I have new shocks so thats not it. My best guess for this fix are coilover shocks. Does anyone else have a better one or concure with this one?
Thanks

Some "squat" under accelleration is good, but not excessive squat. There are a few things to consider if you want to change it:

1. Have you lowered the rear with the eccentric bolts? Dropping it by .5 to .75 inches (to design-spec height) will eliminate some squat.

2. Consider upgrading to larger rear Torsion bars. This will necessitate bumping up the spring rate in the front to match.

3. Purchase coil-over helper springs (like those from www.klaindustries.com). These will allow you to keep your existing torsion bars and add some stiffness to the rear. Again, you will want to increase the spring rate in the front to match.

I think eliminating the rear torsion bars and going to coilovers only on the rear, on a street car, would be a mistake. The mounts for the rear shocks are not meant to bear the total load/weight of the rear.

Hope that helps!

Mine arrive here tomorrow, and I will install over the weekend and auto-cross on them Sunday. I'll let you know what I think. I plan on doing a write up on the install (should be simple) and the overall performance of the product and post it on here. My hope is that they don't raise the rear of the car at all. The guys at KLA say that they won't so I gotta believe them and hope for the best!

I just put the KLA rear coil-overs on my lowered car. Well they come with ten inch springs which puts the adjusters up a little too high into the wheel wells, so at some point I want to buy some eight inch 200lb springs to better match the 250lbs welts up front with stock torsion bars (not sure what they are, the car came with 26.8 mm front, and 18mm rear sways, plus 951 A-arms) although the car drives fine as is for now (hardly driven it yet). So I am now selling a brand new set of Koni yellow rears if anyone is interested, I bought them to fix my bouncing rear end and then came to the conclusion that the torsion bars were getting old. They only have one thousand miles them.

Car_slave
exactly what wheels are you running so we can compare? Could just cut the spring to shorten it. How much for the KONIs?
