Hi, I am about to have my 951 reupholstered. Was thinking about having the dash done in linen leather to match. Would cut down on heat and glare from the shiny hard original plastic. Anyone have any pictures of one with a light colored dash?

I can't say for sure about 944s but for 968s there are a variety of dashes colors but all of them are darker, Medium at best. Even when you find a light color interior the upper part of the dash is usually black or another darker color. So, for linen, assuming you mean a tan, the upper is black, lower in cashmere (the 968 color name).

I've seen the black upper and tan lower done before by other RL'rs and it looks awesome, especially if the console is done to match.

My car is grey-beige, so already has the light lower and black upper. I was thinking of going grey-beige on the upper as well. I thought it was called linen but I checked and it is grey-beige.

My Dash is Marine Blue upper/Linen lower

It came to the U.S. in the 944S2 as well. '91 only (maybe '90). Lightest dash top they put in a 944 AFAIK. Classic Gray?



And in a 968:



944s also came with brown, maroon, Marine Blue, or Cobalt Blue dash tops.

I've been under the impression that at least one 944 was delivered with a tan dash top via Exclusive to match the rest of the interior, documentation of it on the web is virtually nonexistent however.

I have a local friend with a black upper/tan lower dash in his 86 NA. No idea if it's original to the car but I'm pretty sure it's a non-airbag dash, so not from a S2 or 968.

My 951 was 2 tone (since swapped), and my S2 has a burgundy full dash.

I almost bought a 1991 S2 with classic gray interior (it was in good shape), but the color made me to nervous about replacing inside parts if need be, I passed. I researched it heavily, but no one carried the exact color. You can always get black. There are some really funky colors combinations later in the line.
