Looking for this part in particular. Anyone know what its called? Its the plastic piece on the bottom of the windshield, just below the wiper blades. Any help will do. Mines gone, is there a piece that goes there. Thanks in advance.

HY M8NC I hope you don't mind me using your pic for reference.

Do you mean the big plastic cover that goes over the fan and w/w motor which is about 10-12 inchs wide and 3 feet long ? Call partwerks of chicago 1-800-366-9147 and ask for the cowl cover that go over the blower motor .They have them .I think they are about 60. ????????????

Uhhhh, you have an early car, they do not have the large plastic shield that the later cars have. Just the small cover on the blower is all that your car had. I don't think the large cover will fit your car either.

Really??? I just dont like the idea of the (+) terminal from the battery being exposed. Yes, my car is an 83 and it does not have this particular cover. Any other 83 owners have this cover? Been trying to find it. Anyone know what its called? Thanks again.

PET says "cover" for the name. The original # for the 88 is 944-572-063-03, the superceded # is 944-572-063-08-01C

BTW, the cover leaves the battery exposed along with the left side also for the relay box. I'm not sure if early cars had it, but some had a battery cover. 477-915-411-A

The later and early cars are significantly different.

However, both early and late cars had battery covers, but I have yet to find a car that still has one.

For my cars I installed covers for the battery terminals, Red for positive and black for negative. Just a couple of bucks at Pep Boys. While your at it, get some battery terminal grease.

Talking

Cliff-

Low and behold, I guess I have the only 944
with a factory battery cover. Watch
out Christie's Auction House...here I come!
Previous owner had an oem battery but no
cover. I found one some 5 years ago at
a dealer sale her in Cincy, but, of
course, it will only fit the Porsche battery. I
tend to by OEM because I know they will fit.
Had problem with Diehard hence my hangup.
Funny you bring that up, as that is the first
comment other 944 owners make when I raise
the hood. Just ask nine-44 and xsboost!
Odd???....me duth thinkith so.
