It was after I spent time talking with Wes that I decided that I would go ahead with both the lightened crank and the aluminium flywheel. He has both in his car and was the first person that I spoke to that could say that both lightened parts did not make the car any more difficult to drive on the street. I just finished bolting that crank in last night, looking forward to seeing how responsive it feels with those lightened parts and free-er exhaust.

I hated the lightweight flywheel in my 944 NA. I was trying to get a ride in it but by the time I had time they had already buttoned it up. It is possible that it was the fastest car at the track. Love to see quick 951s there, that is a very good track for us. Plenty of turns and the back straight only serves to keep the 911s close so they loose time going back into the turns. But to ruin all the fun Sam Shalala will show up and be 3-4 sec per lap quicker than everyone. Never seen him at a DE though.

Revs fell to quickly, car would die in traffic or when coming to a slow stop. Always had to have some part of my foot touching the throttle. It did rev a lot quicker but the downside was diminshed in town drivability. Just my experience though.

Hey guys, I found the same stripped threads on my 86 944, glad I caught it now before it became a problem. I found the rennlist forums quite helpful in a few other areas as well. Thanks to you guys my new head gasket and overall touch up of my baby is going smoother than expected.
