Question '944' Front Bumper Emblem- Am I the only one?

Everyone I've talked to says that it doesn't really look good on it, but I've seen it on 3 other 944s in the past 3 months; this cannot be a coincidence!
Does anyone else have/had a 944 that has/had a front emblem like this??

Is this from the factory or did someone simply put it on? Personally, I don't think it's that bad-looking, but it does seem a bit, out of place?

Not from factory. It belongs to the rear.

I've used a clothes iron. No 'overspray'. Worked really well.

I have seen several 944's over the years with the emblem in the front. In states where a front license plate was not required, often times the dealer would not install a front plate bracket when the car was prepped. Often times the dealer would take it upon themselves to grab an emblem from the service department and install it on the front bumper to cover the holes left by the lack of a front plate bracket. The last 944 that I bought and sold was Copenhagen Blue with silver lettering and emblems. It had the emblem on the front bumper. IT came from a state where a front plate was never issued.
