Default Need help pricing 92' MoTec 968 cab turbo.

I am looking for opinions for reasonable pricing of this vehicle. The engine is being finished at HMR, LLC and I am considering selling it. New owner could be 1st to drive it. It has new paint, new leather seats all 4, New carpet, New top, dual nada ducts, dual hood latches, big blacks, coil overs, new tires (as of year ago) no miles. Chassis has 175k. New LSD, new flywheel. New high performance HMR radiator. large exhaust. O ringed head. HMR Pistons and connecting rods. Rumor is it is being documented. Last build Jason did like this had 580hp to wheel. I have 30k in latest engine and driveline build. I have well over that as you can imagine. I have no pictures for I haven't been to the shop in over a year.

I feel this is the best forum to get Real market value on this incredible car.

Thanks for you assistance.

Bill

P.S. Yes.... it pains me to sell it.

Post this on the 968 specific forum if you haven't, that's where most of us 968 owners discuss. Glws

580hp to the wheels is some claim. More info to substantiate those claims would be the first thing I'd be wanting as a potential buyer.

There is really not enough info to answer your question. I just bought a 300 HP wheel HP 87 951 with 80K miles in pristine shape with $10K of new parts on it with less than 500 miles on those with all the service being done for $12,000.

I doubt you would get back what you have in engine work on the car. If you got $20K I would be highly surprised, but I wish you the best of luck!

This of course is a clone. If anyone is familiar with 9 magazine (world fastest 968turbo) There is also a Youtube video of a dyno run showing the exhaust in a near molten state. Jason has built this power plant and the dyno has shown the numbers I mentioned. I won't know exact numbers until it is tuned. There has been a set back due to sourcing a clutch that will hold the torque, but it will be resolved soon. In the latest MoTec build I will have close to 30k in motor and driveline alone. Previous motor (not a Motec) would break the rear wheels free at will up to about 85mph...I feel this one will do the same but up to 100mph. I know I will never get what I have into the complete build nor do I want to share how much I've spent.... you will just think I'm crazy.... partially true.

Looking forward to learn more about that car....but why in the world would you want to do this to a 968 cab? I hope you have some type of roll bar that would protect you in a roll over.

Once again, very interested in hearing/seeing more about it, just so much power for a street car with no roof.

I will post the dyno runs and paperwork once available. I am looking for that special someone that always wanted a supercar like this without all the supercar headaches ie. Insurance, service etc. These cars aren't for the faint of heart. Why would I turbo a cab, because here in Florida there are a lot of top down days..... you don't always have to get into the pedal.

Sounds like an awesome build. I think pricing will very much come down to details. If all the details are really top notch, body work is very high quality, it is tuned and runs perfectly, etc., I think it'll command a decent price. If it's still a project when sold it'll be worth much less. Suspension, etc., will make a big difference as well. You say coilovers, but that could be anything from $800 china specials to penskes.

If it makes anything like 580 bhp I think the pedal and the carpet will be strangers.
