Default Leaking fuel pump

Has anyone ever run into a fuel pump that leaks THROUGH the electrical connections and not the fittings? It's the original Bosch and I noticed a small amount of gasoline near the left tire several weeks ago. I'm replacing both the pump and the fuel filter while I'm at it.

I doubt it was leaking through the electrical connections, the common leak points are the crimps on the pump end or the fuel strainer, or more commonly not even on the pump its self, but rather the banjo fitting.

If the leak is by the left rear tire I would suspect something other than the pump. The fuel pump is by the right rear tire. Have you inspected the pump and lines for leaks? The rubber fuel hose coming off of the pump can fail leading to a leak. Everything that Doug said was spot on.

[Bo, well on my way (I think)to getting this job done with a fuel pump ,screen and new filter and the new pump works all of 30 seconds, gets hot and locks up. I put the old one back in,just to verify and the car fires right up and runs fine.It still leaks, of course so it's likely I can't get back to it until the coming weekend after I have the warranty sorted out. I did notice a wide array of costs on what are all supposedly Bosch, from 123$ to nearly 400$from one site. Any ideas why such a disparity?[/B]
