Snap on are the only with 32 click ratchets i think, only thing close are Mac tools with i believe are 24 clicks. And you cant beat thier warrenty/replacement policy. But yea, they are very expensive.

My dad was looking to buy a storage chest made by Snap-on to help organize his garage a little more, i think the chest was something like $2500 dollars.

They sure are expensive. But Craftsman has a fine tooth ratchet that has like 72 teeth.

I still have some of my great-grandfather's Snap-On tools, and his radiator/ body shop was around in the 40's and 50's. They work better than the other crap I have in the garage. They're a little over-priced, but they're better than anything out there.

I had always figured that "tools are tools". Sure, some were more reliable than others, but in the end, it didn't really matter.

Then I rented out a room to a former P-car mechanic who had a full set of Snap-On tools. I get to use them at my disposal. I'll tell you what... they work very well! Sure, most wrenches will grab a bolt and all, but there's something about the ergonomics of the Snap-Ons that surpass anything I've used before...

Oh, and did I mention that I like having these tools at my disposal? And a former P-car mechanic?

He must really like you. I don't lend my tools to anybody unless I really know them!

Yeah, that's a really nice box - my buddy just bought another few year old one for $7k that's just .. large .. it's his second and his first is full. I don't know how much I'd trust myself with that wooden top one

My brother only used that box for about 6 months. He transfered to another MBZ dealership where they provide these really ****ty tool boxes so the Snap-On box just sits in the garage with a cover on it. It's up for sale! I think he's asking ~$5,500 for it.

My oldest brother was a head mechanic at a large service shop in St. Louis for many years, and the shop had a 50% cost deal with the Snap On rep. He acquired a few hundred thousand dollars worth of tools over the years, buying pretty much everything Snap On has. In his set, he has 3 double decker boxes, 2 side cabinets, and a rollabout full of every tool you can think of.

He's now chief mechanic for a Craftsman sponsored NHRA Top Fuel Team and has every Craftsman tool available. He does not like the ergonomics as much, but says they are much more durable.

His Snap On tools are sitting in my middle brothers house, who is mechanically challenged. Once I get a house, you know where they are gonna be!!! (under lock, key, large dog, and shotgun!) Can't wait to get them.
