Titanium centers and polished alum lip

The Zaino system is amazing

98,800 miles and counting.... Euro lens wtih 55W fogs

and 100W DL, plus the 90/100W IceShark Full Boat lighting system = 510 W total lighting now!

Those are some very nice photos of your Turbo S. I'm not a big fan of two-tone rims, but they look extraordinarily well on your silver car. I bet driving with those light cannons is fun, too! Keep up the good work!

Randy_J, that looks great! Did you do the wheels yourself? I've got to do something with my wheels, but I'm struggling with what might look good w/ Zermatt Silver. Now I know one option!

Thumbs up

Very nice!

From what model did you take the 'S'-badge? 993/996 C2/C4 S?

The late 88 951's were called turbo S. They were a "special edition" and then in 89 all 944 turbos were turbo S specs but without the S badge.

Looking good, but a genuine 951S shouldn't have a sun roof. Or am I wrong?

Nope, they all have the sun roof, come on this is the US, almost everything has to have a sun roof, it is damn near impossible to find a 951 shell with out one.....

Randy, she looks beautiful. Where did you get that S badge? I may get some new double sided tape and stick the turbo badge back on if I can have the S also.

I forget, what did you do about wiring up the driving light side? With my headlight package and 100 watt H3s in driving lights, all getting good voltage, you can light things up over a mile down the road. You are now way better than new Bimmers and Benzes running HID. Get ready for everyone trying to follow you at night for your light!

Oh, you may want to get the dead tail light cell upgrade, I have a few sockets left at the local VeeDub dealer. It is a nice little and cheap upgrade that is pretty simple to do and looks quite nice.

Yep, but yours is an 1989 right?

THe info that I have come across is that the 1988 special edition turbo S did not have a sunroof since the factory was worried that it would be sucked off the car if the speed was high enough. On later models they offered the targa on all turbo cars.

On my S2 I had that problem before i got the sunroof just right. At around 255 on the speedo the sunroof would lift and a small gap of maybe maximum a centimeter would open..

Anders. what sort of wacky tabacky are you smoking? I have an '88 TS. It has a sunroof. A very over complicated sunroof.

Pulling the sunroof off by going max speed? Forget it, it will hang on just fine.

Randy,

you did a great job on the wheels, but this forces me to change mine around, I have to have something unique and my graphite cented wheels with a silver lip are no longer...... So now on to something new....

But the car looks great, I'll have some zaino shots of the 965 soon, maybe I'll do so this weekend......

Keep up the good work.

No need to insult me. It seems like it was for weight saving reasons only according to this text.

Go this info from the Porsche Club of America:

"The initial run of 339 cars were painted a special "silver rose" color with an ordinary plaid burgundy interior. They had no sunroof, air conditioning or power windows in order to save weight. Dealers sold those so fast the factory increased production to a total of 1000 cars, 716 of which ended up in the United States.

However, the silver rose color was dropped and all standard Porsche colors and options were now available. Most of the later "S's" were loaded with air, leather seats, sunroof, premium sound and power windows. In 1989, all 944 Turbos came with this "S" package so that's why you don't see a 1989 944 Turbo "S". The only thing they dropped was the "S" designation!"

Quick Reply: A few pics of the freshly painted rims, Zaino polish, and Iceshark lights!
