Default Recommend sound deadening?

So I'm in the process of gutting the interior of my daily driver (and what will be my track day car). Wondering if anyone can recommend some easily obtained sound deadening material? Theres a place in town with Eastwood's product, which appeals because it is compact & appears water & fire resistant but its very heavy. I don't plan on using alot though, just above & in front of trans. Thank you.

For my track car I went with a heat insulation, versus a sound insulation. The passenger side footwell was measuring 140 defF before I put in the insulation. Knocked it down quite a bit. There is an article on my website. I used Koolmat (www.koolmat.com) and am very pleased with it. It has some sound deadening properties but again, for a track car, it's the heat that is going to drive you crazy. Even in Canada

I used a paint sound deadening on mine
Was quite light and dampens the metal plates quite well. I doubt it is an equivalent to dynamat in sound deadening level but does quiet down some metal ratteling sound

We did BXT Rammat 2 with an ensolite cover in the S2 as recommended over on Diyma.com's forums by the car audio guys. It did a great job in the hatch and in the doors, its much quieter on the highway now. Make sure to read the how to on their site.

Default Anti-Fatigue Mat

This works pretty well , medium density , inexpensive and water proof also makes a good base for carpet.

Google around for duct insulation products available at Lowes and Home Depot, such as Frost King Duct Insulation, U Seal, Quick Roof, Peal & Seal, etc. There are various YouTube videos as well.

Best I can tell, Frost King from Home Depot in 15" wide X 15' long roll at about $18 has about the best reputation among those who've used it on cars. Probably not as good as Dynamat, but way cheaper. Pretty light, too, so not much weight added to your car.

Ear plugs are cheaper and weigh less.
